ABOUT THE PREVIOUS EDITIONS

The 1st Smt. Shakuntala Devi National Moot Court Competition, 2024 was held from April 27th to 29th at the School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida. The competition witnessed the participation of 22 teams representing premier law schools from across India, showcasing exceptional advocacy and legal acumen. The rounds were judged by a distinguished panel comprising Hon’ble Justice Indira Banerjee (Former Judge, Supreme Court of India), Hon’ble Justice D.S. Dhaliwaal (Former Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court), Hon’ble Justice J.R. Midha (Former Judge, Delhi High Court), along with several eminent senior advocates and practicing lawyers from across the country.

The Smt. Shakuntala Devi 2nd International Moot Court Competition, 2025 was held from April 24th to 26th at the School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida, with the participation of 37 teams representing premier law schools from across India and Nepal. The Grand Final was adjudicated by an esteemed panel comprising Hon’ble Justice Mrs. Anu Malhotra, Former Judge, Delhi High Court; Adv. Sumeet Pushkarna, Senior Advocate, Delhi High Court; Prof. (Dr.) Sonam Tshering, Associate Dean, JSW Law School, Bhutan; Prof. (Dr.) Anatoliy V. Kostruba, University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France; and Mr. Vibhu Pahuja, Associate, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge, Supreme Court of India, as the Chief Guest, along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice J.R. Midha, Former Judge, Delhi High Court, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Subhash Vidyarthi, Judge, Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench, as Guests of Honour.

 

ABOUT THE MOOT PROPOSITION

The theme of the 3rd Edition of the Smt. Shakuntala Devi International Moot Court Competition, 2026, is multidisciplinary, centred on constitutional law.

 

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open for students who are studying an LLB three-year or five years integrated course during the current academic year.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

The Oral Rounds of the Smt. Shakuntala Devi 3rd International Moot Court Competition, 2026 (“the Competition”) shall be conducted in a hybrid mode. The Preliminary Round will be held online on 12th April 2026. The Advanced Rounds are scheduled to take place in offline mode on 1st and 2nd May 2026 at the School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida.

REGISTRATION FEE

All the teams registering are expected to make a single final payment in either of the following ways:

  1. Registration Fees- 1500/– (Including GST) (per Team)
  2. AccommodationFees- 6,000/– (Including GST) (Per Team)

NOTE: Additional Accommodation Fees apply only  to the teams qualifying for Quarter-Final Rounds

All information regarding the mode of payment and the account details has been provided in the official Rulebook of the competition attached herewith. The registration fee is inclusive of any and all GST charges. Kindly also find attached the Moot Proposition for the competition.

REWARDS FOR THE PARTICIPANTS

The rewards for the participants stand as follows:

  1. Winning Team:Merit Certificate, Trophy, Runners’ Trophy, Cash Prize of ₹50,000/-, an Internship Opportunity at Scriboardand a Certificate Course by ACIAM worth ₹50,000/-.
  2. Runner-up Team:Merit Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize of ₹30,000/-Certificate Course by ACIAM worth ₹30,000/-.
  3. Best Memorial (Petitioner): Merit Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize of ₹7,500/-Certificate Course by Legal Vidhiya worth ₹7,500/-.
  4. Best Memorial (Respondent):Merit Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize of ₹7,500/-Certificate Course by Legal Vidhiya worth ₹7,500/-.
  5. Best Speaker (Male): Merit Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize of ₹7,500/-Certificate Course by ACIAM worth ₹10,000/-.
  6. Best Speaker (Female): Merit Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize of ₹7,500/-Certificate Course by ACIAM worth ₹10,000/-.
